Turn the key, KEEP IT TURNED, and lift the boot with your other hand. Not ideal ! If you don't keep the key turned, the boot stays locked. It doesn't 'pop up' by a few mm. Ask someone to sit on the driver seat, operate the footwell boot release catch and KEEP IT RAISED. Then you, bringing up the rear, open the boot.

Keyless entry problem. I did an experiment toady with the keyless entry system. I started the car and gave my girlfriend the key. She waited by the shop while I drove off. To my surprise the car let me drive off and I drove 500 yards to the end of the road. The system warned there was no key but at no point did it cut out the ignition.
