I'm not very familiar with the 1.0 Ecoboost so I couldn't tell you for sure. It's a much rarer engine. The 1.0 ECOboost has a multistage cooling system with 2 thermostats. It is not uncommon for one of the thermostats to fail on a 1.0 ECOboost. A failed thermostat directly affects engine temperature and if the engine does not reach normal operating temperature it will also affect fuel economy. 1.

Problems with Ford Focus 1.0 Ecoboost I would first like to make it clear that I used to be a huge fan of the Ford brand. Let me begin by indicating that I owned a 2010 ford Fiesta which at 120000km it went for a major service and then a few weeks later an engine light appeared which when taken to ford I was told there was a crack on the engine
2016 Ford Focus with 65K had the same issue and to drop a new ecoboost engine will cost around 7800 dollars, the car is only worth 8200, so is it worth it and yet we just keep expanding our carbon footprint. What about all those cars that never get sold and are stashed away in some desolate place.
